Spooky Ghost Tutorial
Make ths fun and simple ghost to dress your home up for Halloween.
Supplies needed for this craft project:
1 yard cheese cloth
Fabric stiffener (Aleene's Fabric Stiffener or Stiffy Fabric Stiffener both work well)
2 1/2" Styrofoam ball
Foil or wire
Plastic bottle (empty and clean)
Plastic wrap
Embellishments (optional)
1. Cover your work surface with plastic wrap to prevent sticking.
2. Press Styrofoam ball on bottle opening until secure.
3. Scrunch a long piece of foil into a rope shape and wrap around neck of bottle.
You can use wire instead of foil for this step, if you prefer.
4. Move the foil arms into whatever position you like. This is the form for your ghost.
If the foil doesn't want to stay in place, you can use tape to secure it.
5. Cover the entire form in plastic wrap.
6. Cut the cheese cloth into 1 foot strips and completely saturate in the fabric stiffener.
7. Squeeze excess fabric stiffener from the cheese cloth.
8. Carefully drape the strips of cheese cloth over the ghost form and position evenly.
9. Allow the cheese cloth to pool around the base of the ghost.
10. Allow to dry thoroughly 12 - 24 hours, although humidity may affect drying times.
11. Carefully pull your stiffened ghost away from form and plastic wrap.
12. Use acrylic craft paint to give your ghost eyes and embellish as desired.
