Making Paper Gift Bags

Suppies Needed

½ X 11inch sheet solid card stock

8 9/16 X 81/16 inch sheet coordinating printed paper

1 yard coordinating ribbon

Double sided craft tape

Embellishments (optional)

On the larger paper score the fold (dashed) lines, as shown in figure above.

Make the small cuts as indicated in the figure above. Be careful not to cut past the vertical fold lines.

When finished, the paper should look like the paper above.

Add double sided tape as shown in the picture above.

Fold tabs in and align side panels. Press together to adhere. Repeat for both sides.

Add a small dot of tape to the inside tabs and press against sides to adhere.

On the smaller paper score the fold lines. Be very cautious not to tear through the paper if it is thin.

Make the cuts as before.

Place double sided tape on the base and position the inner bag over it. Press down to adhere.

Tape the tabs to the sides.

Fold the front and back up and adhere to the inner bag.

Fold side panels in and tape down.

Add ribbon handles using double sided tape.

Add the ribbon band.

Embellish as desired. Adding brads or grommets to base of the handles will make them sturdier.
