Advertising on Your Craft Website

There are a variety of ways you can run ads on your site.  Just carve out some ad space in your design, sign up for the ads and watch the revenue roll in. Well, it's a bit more complicated that that, but that's about the gist of it. The key to generating successful ad revenue is choosing ads that are in the same general theme as your website and lots and lots of traffic. You can have the most well chosen ads, beautifully placed and never see a dime if you never get any hits.
  • Typically you will be paid, depending on the advertiser, based on one of the following...
  • Pay per click (that's the number of clicks to the advertiser from your website)
  • Number of site views or impressions (that's the number of views of your web page)
  • Commission (that's if someone clicks the ad on your site which leads directly to a sale)
None of these methods should cost you a penny. It's free to sign up. Remember, this is advertising that is designed to create income for you. Don't pay anyone to set up advertising on your site.
Tips...
  • Keep ads in theme with your site
  • Don't let the ads overwhelm the site
  • Consider holding off on using ads until you've generated loyal viewers
  • Do not click on your own cilck or impression ads to boost your income. That will get you banned from your ad program.
  • Keep them simple, small and few.
