Creating Your Own Craft Website
If your are really serious about starting an online craft business then creating an informative, content filled website

is essential. Search engines are primarily interested in good, original content. Website creation can be vastly complicated or deceptively simple. Let's assume you are on a budget and want to build your website yourself. What will you need...
1. Content is at the top of the list because it is probably the single most important thing toward making your business successful. Creating content is also the first thing your should do. Don't even bother worrying about anything else until you have a good amount of quality content for your site.
2 Next you will need a good web building tool. These are easily down-loadable and often free. Unless you want a very complex website, just use a free one.
3 You'll want to choose a template that will serve as the basic look of your site. Your web building software will likely come with a variety of templates, but should you want something different, these can be found for free online.
4 Before you upload your site to the web, you'll need to find a web host. Many ISP accounts come with free hosting, so check with your provider. There are also a vast number of web hosting sites out there. Many offer free hosting, but these will typically have ad banners placed on them.
5 You'll also need a domain name. These can frequently be acquired through your web host or can be purchased from a multitude of sites. You don't have to purchase a domain name if you don't choose to, although this is relatively easy to do and inexpensive. Once you set up an account with a web host, they will give you a URL, usually something like
http://username.hostname.com. You can simply use the URL provided or have a domain name of your own choosing that can be forwarded to your URL.
